공부의 요체는 모두 하나의 경을 떠나지 않는 것이다. 대개 마음이란 한 몸의 주재이며, 경은 또 한마음의 주재이다(用工之要 俱不離乎一敬. 蓋心者 一身之主宰 而敬又一心之主宰也)
The essence of applying one’s efforts is nothing other than a matter of not departing from constant mindfulness, for the mind is the master of the entire person and mindfulness is the master of the mind(Kalton, 1988: 162)
